About me
Personal
I’m a software developer in the UK, married with two fantastic children.
Work
I’ve been working as a software developer at Smartways Technology Ltd for almost 10 years. My work encompasses full project lifecycle, development and management.
My primary focus is on web-related applications. I started working using Perl and have moved through PHP and ASP to my current technology-du-jour: ASP.NET.
Experience
Over my time at Smartways I’ve been lucky enough to work with a large number of varied clients, including:
- Colleges (e.g. Northampton College)
- Councils (e.g. Warrington Borough Council, Bracknell Forest Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Northampton Borough Council)
- Commercial entities (e.g. Asigra, Novastor, EBC Brakes Direct, Lambert Smith Hampton, Sundial Group)
- Levy bodies (e.g. AHDB, EBLEX, BPEX)
Please note that these links are to their homepages – I may or may not have actually been involved in their public website.
Education
Between 2001 and 2006 I undertook a BSc in Business Computing at the University of Northampton in an evening-only mode, allowing me to work full-time during the day. This was structured by me first completing a HNC, then a HND, then (after a year of non-study), a top-up to the BSc. The last year was identical to a final-year full-time degree course in units and workload, just studied in an evening-only mode. I graduated from the course in 2006, getting a 1st class with honours.
Before that I was lucky enough to attend St. John’s School in Episkopi, Cyprus. I left in 2000 after completing my A-levels.
